Abstract This article explores long-term trends and patterns of material use in France for a 185-year period. It is the first long-term study of material flows for France with national and yearly data for most of the period. Based on a material flow analysis (MFA) that is fully consistent with current standards of economy-wide MFAs and covers domestic extraction, imports, and exports of materials, we investigated the evolution of the French metabolism from industrialization to financialized capitalism. Agents of change: Women in top management and corporate environmental performance

International audience; We analyze the influence of gender diversity in top management on the environmental performance of French firms. Consistent with gender socialization theory, which posits that women are raised from childhood to be more nurturing and compassionate for others, we find that firms with more women in top management exhibit higher environmental performance. This result extends those already reported in the literature regarding the effect of gender diversity at board level. Utilizando informaciones inéditas recopiladas en el marco de un amplio programa de mejora de la gestión del sistema educativo, este articulo analiza los niveles de satisfacción de los docentes de educación primaria en Madagascar. En base a la estimación de modelos multinivel, se identifican como principales factores de insatisfacción los bajos niveles salariales y las dificultades en el cobro, los elevados ratios alumno-profesor, la precariedad en el empleo, la carencia de formación continua y la falta de infraestructuras básicas y material docente.
